Hicks Orchard Celebrated its 100th Season of U-Pick on September 10th.
Hicks Orchard is announcing a day of special events to honor the farm's historic 100th Season of Pick-Your-Own-Fruit. A special "Season Opening Gala Event" will be held on Saturday, September 10th at 10:30 am in the barnyard at Hicks Orchard. A list of scheduled speakers include past farm family members recounting the history of the farm, New York State Assemblyman Roy McDonald, Marge Mohn from the Washington County Tourism Association, a presentation from the New York Agricultural Society and a special presentation of a New York State Senate Legislative Resolution honoring Hicks Orchard as "New York's Oldest U-Pick Orchard" from Senator Betty Little's office.

Food, music and a wine tasting featuring New York State wines will follow, along with a ceremonial picking of the first apples of 2005. The Apple Barn at Hicks will be open and full of fresh picked apples, cider, cider donuts and more! The orchards will open following the presentation for early McIntosh picking.
